I'm running XP Home and I boot directly to the OS without a password (no Tweak UI installed). Is it possible to create a new account with LESS privileges and a password while still allowing the sytem to boot straight to the OS as it does now? I was thinking perhaps if I can boot straight to the OS without a password, and if I choose I can log off then log back on as the OTHER user and enter that password? But to just boot up, let the sytem go straight to the OS with no password.

    Hope this is fairly clear.

Clear as crystal. And you can certainly do what you want.

Just add the new user account and give it a password. Next go to the User Accounts section in control panel and check the box to require a CAD for login. start~run~control userpasswords2 and when you check the box, it should force the classic windows logon screen with the line for username and another for password.

Then when you log out and anyone logs in with the new user account, a password will be required.

If you want to continue to use the "friendly" logon screen with the icons for users, a passworded account should pop up a password blank when the user icon is pressed.
