xp download ~help~

i have xp home edition all is running ok except one thing, and thats when i go to sites that have pictures and wallpaper.
when i try to save it to my pictures folder , it does arrive but when i preview it isnt there and it comes up cant show picture as this bitmap image is not supported but it isn`t just one site its them all,i dont know but when i am saving it ,it only gives me 2 choices of art and bitmap, and i cant find the jpeg any where as it seems to have gone, can someone help me as i dont want to press f10 for a full system restore as all else is working properly, i dont now much about pcs and i may have to activate jpeg somewhere in my pc .

Try emptying all your temporary internet files.
