Does the backup facility in XP do the same thing as Norton Ghost and Drive Image. If I use XP to backup the c drive partition with XP on it to a c drive partition d: and then format the c drive how do I restore the shadow from the d: partition to the c: partition. Programs like Drive image uses a floppy to boot to dos and then run from the floppy. But XP doesnt do this. From what I can work out I will need to reload XP and then restore the shadow overtop of XP. This all seems a bit scary and there seems to be very limited help in XP on this subject. Please help.

No - as far as I know Backup does not have the facility to span multiple cd's.
