Is there a way in MS Word 97 or 2000 to password-protect the Header and Footers. For example, I have a document, which I would like to let my co-workers amend it but I do not want to let them modify the Footers Section.

    Thanks

If you set it up as a master document, users will only be able to modify sections shown as belonging to them. Not really solid protection since they can change the option to allow modification but it would remind folks not to make changes there.

But other features of the master document may not be suitable for what you want.

If not familiar with the Master Document concept for MSWord, check Microsoft online help and search for Master Document.
