WMPlayer 9 VERY Illogical

I spent HOURS trying to appease Windows Media Player 9 so it would perform a VERY simple search in my style/genre folders and place those tunes in a Playlist folder that I've labeled as such, because apparently it doesn't offer any other kind of flexible search and distribute. However, even when I have all the songs that I want in say a Jazz folder, and I create a Playlist that I want all of those tunes copied to they never show up in the folder even after I do a search in that folder.

If there's another application that does this function better...FINE...let me know.

Well, I would upgrade if I had XP, but I'm using Win2k, and believe it or not, I can't afford an XP upgrade right now. I was thinking about getting XPLite that's modular and very customizable, but actually that's beside the point. The application SHOULD be EASILY able to facilitate my need. I DON'T need all the internet access, or some of the other bells and whistles. I just need an EASY way to catalog my different playlists.
