I have upgraded to window media player 9. Now it does not allow me to listen to the radio online.

I get this message, "Windows Media Player cannot play any items in this playlist. For additional information, right-click an item that cannot be played, and then click Error Details "

Have tried web help to no avail. Even the provided radio links in media library won't play. Never have found Error details. I am running windows xp.

I wish I was here to say that I found a fix for you, but...............
I've been unable to turn up anything on this. My only suggestion is to uninstall MP9 and do a fresh download and install. Either one may have been corrupted.

If you downloaded from windows update, try it from here instead. Save it to the drive, then close all programs and windows before installing. Reboot and try it again.
On MP's tools>options>network tab be sure all 4 streaming protocols are checked. On streaming proxy settings, set HTTP to autodetect.

Dave, you're not going to believe this, but I cannot find a way to uninstal wm9

I have tried add/remove programs, went into program files just has a link to the player no options. Every thing that I could think of still leaves the player on the computer.

Now you know I have problems eh :D

Should I just re download the program, and instal hoping it will ask to replace old files with new one's ?

Here's what Microsoft says to remove it. And I also found this tidbit, which says to disregard my suggestion to uninstall. :)

    Thank you dave :D

I used system restore, and went back to the day before I upgraded wm9. Did the restore and atlas it works again.

I guess I should leave well enough alone and not try the upgrade.

Again thank you very much. John

    John,

Glad to hear you can listen to radio online again, however, would rather have heard you got MP9 working properly. I think you should try the upgrade again myself, because MP9 has alot more options and functionality that I think you would enjoy. Just my opinion :)
