I have an HP computer that came with a wireless mouse and keyboard which uses the wireless router like any other wireless device. I recently bought a MS wireless mouse and I tried installing it. I installed the program and plugged in the MS mouse router into the comp and clicked connect on both the mouse and router, but my default HP mouse still works and the MS mouse doesn't. How can I somehow make my HP mouse stop working and get my MS mouse to work without disabling the keyboard?

    Thank you.

Its possible that your MS RF reciever has mistakenly connected to some other RF device and now will not recognize your mouse. Most RF wireless peripherals have special commands for reseting their connections and looking for a new device to connect to, look in your user manual or on the MS website. It usually consists of holding down a specific combination of buttons. When you find what the procedure is and before attempting it, just to make certain you eliminate any interference, I would try unplugging your old wireless mouse and keyboard and any other RF peripherals in your home. Anything that uses the same frequency as your mouse (2.4Ghz I assume). Wireless routers, wireless phones, wireless gamepads, and many other devices use the 2.4 Ghz frequency. Also if you post what model of mouse you have perhaps someone will know the procedure you need to reset your device. Once you get your new mouse working it should be no problem to use your old keyboard.
