Hi! I have a Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 1.0A. I also have the wireless mouse that goes with it. Both the keyboard and mouse stopped working. I changed batteries and reset to no avail. I gave up and went back to an old wired keyboard and mouse. The wires drove me crazy, so I gave in a purchased a new wireless mouse. While I was hooking up the new mouse, I decided to see if the wireless keyboard would work with the new mouse. I set it up and the keyboard worked again! However, I got a BSOD and after trying to fix the problem myself and changing some BIOS settings, I gave up and took to the professionals. My hard drive was going bad so they installed new one. Brought computer home and hooked up and now my wireless keyboard doesn't work again. Is it something with the new hard drive or BIOS settings? It was working fine before the new hard drive install.

    cdaugherty21 - Welcome to the Board :)

Have you installed the software for the wireless mouse/keyboard on the new drive?

I've had the keyboard and mouse for awhile and am not sure where the disc might be. Can it be downloaded from the internet?

Thanks for your help! I was just getting ready to download the software when my computer guy stopped by the house to drop off another computer he was working on. I asked him about my problem and he simply "reset" the keyboard and mouse by pressing and HOLDING the connect buttons on the devices for several seconds (until the receiver "found" it). I was only pushing the button on the receiver and then pushing the connect buttons on the mouse and keyboard. In order to reset the device, you have to hold down the connect buttons for the reset to occur. Hopefully, this will help someone else with the same problem. I did go ahead and download the software, so now all of my special buttons on my keyboard actually work! :) Thanks again!

Yes, I overlooked that possibility - been a while since I used a wireless keyboard - glad to hear it is fixed :)
