Hey everybody, just joined here and hope for some good times to be had. Anyways, I do have a problem though...

I've been connecting to my campus's wireless network from my dorm PC for nearly two years now and haven't had a problem until just recently. I know it has something to do with SP2, but can't put my finger on it. "Limited or no connectivity" message. My Linksys wireless USB adapter monitor says I'm connected fine to the access point, just cannot find the internet (sending packets, not receiving though). I have no physical abilitiy to do anything to the access point (to my knowledge).

I know it's not a problem with the adapter, I've updated drivers and even tried 2 PCI adapters from both Netgear and Linksys. Any help would be much appreciated cause right now I am using their hardwired monthly fee service =(

Hi and welcome to the forum. Take a look at the fix Dez Bradley posted for that problem and see if it fixes you.

I'd suggest a basic test to find out where the problem lies. Try this:

    tracert 66.102.11.99

The resulting output should give you a list of the routers the sent packet gets to on its way to the final destination (a google server). The first router listed is the one nearest to you.

If this gets nowhere, the fault is probably at your computer. If you get beyond the first router, the problem is with the network set up rather than with your computer.

Post back with what you get and any error messages you get.
