Thanks to merlin, jazcan and goddez for your valuable information. All contributions were enlightening!

    merlin,
I opened properties in the winzip on my desk, this is what was there:

    WinZip
    Type: File Folder
    Location: C:\Windows Desktop
Size: Contains 29 Files, 0 folders
    MS-DOS Name: Winzip
    Created Saturday November 16, 2002 8:45 PM
    Attributes: Nothing is checked

    Thank you for your attention!
    :)

To figure out what should be done with this folder you need to find out:
    >if you dragged or copied this to desktop by mistake,
    >if it is the actual folder winzip is installed in,
    >or if it is a folder winzip files needed for installation was extracted to.

*Hit your F3 if all other windows are collapsed, or winkey+F or[startmenu>search>file find] and do a search for winzip

*Is there another winzip folder in c:\windows\program files
or possibly another directory if you designated your own during install?

*Look for a winzip icon shortcut

*Right click on it and select properties

*what path does the shortcut use for the winzip32.exe

    Carval,
I would guess that when you installed Winzip, you chose
C:\Windows\Desktop as the install directory (Folder).
I would use Control Panel/Add Remove Programs to uninstall
    Winzip.
Then re-install it again to (say) C:\Program Files
    - but not C:\Windows\Desktop !!
The Folder icon on the Desktop should not be there after a reboot, but if it is, right click and choose Delete.
    regards
