I have windows xp and just downloaded Winzip 10. I was wondering what is the best Zip software programs out there and does XP have a zip program built into it? Any recommedations?

I just started zipping some folders for a professor for an online course that I am taking and he suggested WinZip but I was wondering if this is the best one for zipping. Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Yes, XP contains a ZIP feature. To get started, click Start | Help and Support, type zip in the "Search" box at the top and press [Enter]. On the left, under Overview, Articles and Tutorials, select File compression overview. In the right pane, click Compress (zipped) Folders.

As far as "what is the best Zip software out there ", depends on who you ask. (Just like what's the: "best car ", "best computer ", "prettiest girl ", etc. etc. etc.). :)

I personally use WinZip, and it's command-line add-on, because I grew up with it, (the old DOS pkzip version by Phil Katz). Works for me. :)
