I have these useless and empty folders that I would like to delete.

If I try and delete them either WinXP will deny the delete or if I disable the File Protection and delete them WinXP automatically recreates them after rebooting?

Is there a way to get rid of them for good?

    Here they are:

    C:\Program Files\microsoft frontpage
    C:\Program Files\msn gaming zone
    C:\Program Files\netmeeting
    C:\Program Files\xerox
    C:\Program Files\windows nt

All of them are empty !!

    Thanks

As a general rule, anything XP won't give up easily is best left alone.

I have all those same folders but not all of them are empty. I have been involved in several efforts to delete the Xerox folder but AFAIK nobody has been able to do that nor explain why MS chose to leave it in the system. I get lots of theories but nothing definitive.

The rest of those folders belong to various XP features and will be written to when needed. I notice that most of the files I have in those folders are dated 8/4/2004 so they get updated fairly often. I think that date goes with the SP2 patch so I'm thinking there may be some reason to keep them. That's not necessarily so but they take up so very little space that I don't feel like it's worth any risk at all. I should add that I'm usually fearless in such matters but I need more rewards than these puny folders. Anything under 200 ~ 300 megs isn't gaining enough to be rewarding.

I hear ya SurferDude but ....

I'm just a neat freak with an old computer that likes it as lean as possible.

These folders on my computer are empty and they bug me :)

I'm always in Windows Explorer and launch allot of my apps from their folders.

So anyway .. I'd like to get them out of my way..

    Thanks For the Responce !!

If it's of any consolation to you, I run a FAT32 file storage system and have deleted the Xerox folder in a dos boot disk session. It came right back upon reboot. I suspect that would be true of the others as well. MS will have its way it seems.
