    eMachineShop software problem
    problem encountered on 8/31/03
eMachineShop (http://www.eMachineShop.com/) is a small cad program that allows design of a part for quotation and eventual maching by eMachineShop, all via the internet. It reportedly allows import of *.dxf files as well.
Their website says: "eMachineShop is the remarkable new way to get the custom parts you need. Download our free software, draw your part, and click to order - it's that easy! Your part will be machined and delivered. Even better, your cost is low due to the internet, software, and automated machines. Why waste time traveling, calling, faxing or emailing to conventional machine shops? Reduce your total time up to 90% and open doors to new products and projects! Intelligent design software gives instant exact pricing, expert feedback, and unrivaled convenience. "
    Their instructions are as follows:
Downloading the eMachineShop software is quick and easy. Requires Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, NT, or XP. 3.4mb The download link below runs a download utility.
Run Download Now (http://www.12321.com/ftp/emachineshop/EMSDownloader.exe). This is a small setup file about 120KB in size.
Wait for the download to finish. Follow screen instructions. Double click on the desktop icon (Which I didn't Get) for eMachineShop (not EMSDownloader). Enjoy eMachineShop!
In case of difficulty downloading try here: (http://www.12321.com/ftp/emachineshop/emachineshop.exe). This is where I eventually downloaded emachineshop.exe file of about 4.26 MB in size.
    My Problem:
I first downloaded the EMSDownloader.exe, but got no icon on my desktop as they said I would.
So, I downloaded the larger emachineshop.exe file, double-clicked to install. Installation went fine and program reported that installation was completed successfully.
But, when I click the shortcut I get two error messages:
    1) "C:\Program Files\emachineshop\emachineshop.exe: A device attached to the system is not functioning. "
    2) "emachineshop.exe file is linked to missing export wininet.dll: InternetAutodial. "
However my c:\windows\system folder does have a wininet.dll, dated 1996.
    My System:
200 MHz Pentium running W95b with MS Plus and Office 97, 64 MB RAM, 922 MB free on C-partition, 56K V.90 dialup modem, SBC PacBell Internet ISP, Netscape 4.78 and Opera 7.1.
Is it possible that I need a more current issue of wininet.dll?
I tried control panel>internet>connection>checked "connect as needed" for my ISP dialer, but since I have Microsoft Mes-saging in Startup (for the fax function only) when I boot, it dials my ISP, which is no good.
I tried disabling Messaging and checking "connect as needed" but the same two error messages appear.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Larry
