    About to upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium .
    Had a problem with my HP 1005 printer in Vista when originally loaded and somehow got it working OK by downloading a HP 1000 driver from somewhere that eventually worked , however I read that this printer is not supported by HP with Windows 7 Drivers ( nor Vista for that matter , I think ).
    Running Microsoft Compatibility Programme, it says that my Printer is not compatible .
    Anyone got any ideas on finding a driver that will work /has W7 perhaps an inbuilt generic driver or will the current driver I have in Vista remain when I migrate to W7 via the upgrade ???
    Tks for someones' assistance in advance to prevent frustration setting in when upgrading !

    In theory, the HP 1000 drivers would work if you got them to work in Vista.

    Am curious - What are your top five reasons for wanting to install Win 7?

    Steve .....Thas for yr input - "in theory" is the right phrase
    Strangely enough , don't think I can give you 5 reasons - Only reasons I can think of is to :
    -keep up with what is new ;
    -increase my stress and frustration levels to the upper limits .

    Hope the HP Laserjet1005 keeps on working !!!

    Tks for the input .
