The flippers in this game do not work as they are supposed to, in that there is a distinct delay between the time the button is pushed and the flipper moves.

Would anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this.

If it's of any consolation to you, mine is the same way. In fact the ball movement is also jerky on mine.

I'm running a 1.6 gig P4 machine with 256 meg of ram so it should handle this game very well. I even tried a bare bones boot and still it jerks.

Funny thing is, I have the game on an older p2 166 with 32 meg of ram and it plays as smooth as silk on it.

Since it once did well on this machine I would guess the problem might be related to one of the last two patches I installed. I'll need to do some more research on that.

Perhaps someone who hasn't installed the last patch could give it a go on their machine and see if it still works, then they will be able to compare afterward when they update.

I'll beat around on it and let you know if I come up with anything.

    Regards.

edit, Update, I turned the sound off within the game and it plays smoothly. Go figure.

edit #2. Now I find that if I turn the sound AND the music both on at the toolbar option, the game is smooth as silk. I think we're not dealing with a well programmed product here. ;) I'm not much of a gamer and now I see why. This cacophony would drive me bonkers in short order. Short trip there no doubt. :D

I tried mine with the sound and music turned on and it too works fine under these conditions.

I believe also that at one time it worked well with both these turned off, I too am not much of a gamer and only try items such as this once or twice a year, so I suspect you are correct in your assumption that this problem has been caused by an update.

If you are able to discover the cause, I certainly would appreciate an update.
