    Hello all!

I have a question about updating my drivers. I have downloaded programs such as Driver Robot. I have removed this program promptly due to some reviews stating that the program doesn't work, downloads incorrect drivers and even states certain drivers are out of date when they are not.

However, I was wondering if there are any free ways to tell if/when your drivers are out of date and a way download them all!

I have attempted to update my drivers manually Via the Device Manager. However, whenever I search for updates non are found.

I have also seen websites that will "Scan" your computer for updates however, I am not particularly trusting of such sites.

    Thanks.

You didn't mention which PC you are using.Don't trust other sites.Go to the website of OEM and download the latest drivers available. For Dell PC you have to quote your tag no. given on the back of your PC.The site will show recommended drivers, only download the recommended one's.

Yes, if it is a Dell, get the drivers from their website and as stated, use the Service Tag number to find the specific drivers for your model.

Do you want to pay for a program that could offer you the wrong ones? Do you want to pay for a program that will give you same drivers you could get at Dell for free?

"Look for updated drivers on the internet" in Device Manager just checks the Windows Update website.

I don't update drivers unless I am going to install a new Service Pack or if I might suspect a driver of needing it. If my system is running "nicely ", I don't change anything.

I'll just wanted Matt's statement above to stand out more, to be sure people read it!

There's no need to "go around" updating drivers for the sake of updating drivers!

If you experience problems it's early enough to look into updating your drivers.
