I received an auto update from windows and 3 of them failed to load. Now I get the Update Balloon in the lower right toolbar whenever I start up and when I shut down it is on the Turn Off icon. Yet, the updates always fail to load. How can I get rid of the balloon and keep the notice from coming up? The 3 updates that fail are:

Security Update for Office 2003 (KB936048)
Update for Outlook Junk EMail Filter 2003 (KB936643)
Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB940602)

You can e-mail me direct at Removed by Moderator for any suggestions.

    Thanks

Hi, PeterPap. Welcome to Windows BBS! :)

A moderator edited your message above to remove your email address for two reasons (I expect).
    1. Some bots crawl web sites looking for email addresses that can be used for spam.
    2. We prefer to keep discussions in the forums so other people with the same or similar may benefit from the discussions.

I assume you have clicked on the shield icon in your system tray and tried to install the updates that way.

Perhaps you can manually download the hotfixes from Microsoft to a folder on your hard drive and then run them to install the hotfixes (followed by rebooting your computer).
