Resolved Windows Update

This is a very confusing issue and hope it is not just me.
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 x86 (KB2446708) Download size: 11.2 MB
On the 13 April the above downloaded I installed, restarted computer and the following saga began.
Same day it downloaded again I installed.
14th downloaded again I installed
15th it downloaded 6 times during the day each time I installed
16th it appeared 2 times during the day each time I installed
17th it appeared 2 times during the day each time I installed
Low and behold I have just come on the computer and it is the 18th 12.20am and it is there again. As a very Senior user and this is a pretty new expensive computer I do not know what to do. I sure don't want to ignore IMPORTANT updates but this is taking things toooo far. I hope someone in this forum can help me resolve this. Thanks in advance. karles

See if the information in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article, How to troubleshoot Windows Update or Microsoft Update when you are repeatedly offered an update, is any help.

 

Hi Miz. Thank you for the advice. Have done as suggested and I see I have work to do and go through each stage. I will post back when and if succeeded. Thank's Karles

 

I've had a similar problem over the last week and followed the instructions for a manual update and every thing is now AOK!!
