I have an update that I have been trying to install for about a week and it won't work. The update is a security update for Windows XP, KB2229593. After trying to install it, I get the result of "Some updates could not be installed." When I checked my update history at the Windows Update site, it showed an error code 0x8007F0DA. My computer seems to be running fine, but seeing that little yellow update symbol in the task bar constantly is kind of annoying. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You can be 99% sure that if you are running XP it will be x32 .....

Right click My Computer icon and on the window that opens the installed OS is shown - if x64 you will see it there.

x64 software will not install on x32 OS.

Downloading and updating it manually seems to have solved the problem. Thank you for the assistance.
