Windows Update is Sloooooooooooow!

    I don't use automatic windows update, but instead just check it myself every couple of weeks. However now when I check it, the green bar just moves left to right and left to right ... and just keeps going without ever giving me a list of possible updates to install.

    Any idea what's going on?

    I've got Win XP home, SP2.

    MS released an update a couple days ago that might address your problem (among other problems).
