    I keep getting a pop up window saying something like my computer is affected with buffer overrun or something like that. I am instructed to go to www.windows-patch.com and download the patch.
    Is this legit?

    I wouldn't trust ANYTHING that pops up! Check with Windows Update to find out if any security patches are needed on your system. Does this popup come up on your desktop or within IE?
