Hello, when I try burning a playlist in Windows Media Player using the CD drive: Audio CD option, it will start to burn and immediately stop and not burn anything to the CD. The Data CD option and the HighMat Audio option burn fine but they aren't recognized in CD players. I have tried Sony and Maxell CD-R cd's but with no luck. Can anyone help? Thanks!

check u'r burner for firmware updates. most have them and most users don't know it ;) ... if u've got a sony go to sony.com's support and look up u'r model basically. substitute u'r burner maker's site if not sony

i'd also check what burn apps u've got - like nero or such - and update them if avail. WMP will use nero's burn portion if nero is installed non-custom more or less so ... the problem may lie there too.

note that MANY external players - dvd, audio, etc - just plain will NOT play burned CDs. their makers should be able to specify supported formats etc. but it's a make/model specific issue mostly. i have a $350 sony dvd/cd/audio player that won't play anything burned for the most part. i have a $69 no-nameer that plays everything ;)

    skeet6961,

Thank you so much for viewing my thread and replying so quickly. I never thought to check to see if the burner had any firmware updates. I only tried Windows Media Player and Windows Update. It's an internal Asus DVD/CD burner that I purchased from NewEgg so I will give that a try sometime. I will also check Nero for updates. Again, thanks for the quick reply and the help!
