When trying to view live TV shows on (The shopping Channel) I get this message & box coming up after trying to connect to Media Player. "Windows Media Player cannot play this file because the server is not responding. If you entered a URL or path to play the file, the link may not be valid.
When going to more information, this is the next message I get.
OxC00D11B3: Encountered a network problem. This message contained all the info to verify my proxy server settings.
Did that, & still I am having the same problem.
Is there something else that I can do to rectify this problem???
I am operating Windows XP home edition.
Also this started to happen right after I installed quicktime (which I needed to read some tutorial disks).
Would greatly appreciate all the help I can get, as I don't know what else to do.
    Thanks,
    Lucy:confused:

Try opening the Player and going to the Tools menu > Network tab. Be sure all 4 boxes on the left are checked.

For the streaming protocols below center, try setting them to "None" or "Browser ". Try it both ways. Go to the File Types tab and select all. You can always customize this later. Apply and try your webcasts.

If you are running a firewall, you need to open it up and find where to give wmplayer.exe internet access.

Hope you're all set. It was a shotgun approach, but if it worked, we really don't need the details of "why ". ;)
