Windows Media Files

I have just upgraded to Windows Media Player 10 fro 9 because I could not get 9 to play wmv files on my XP system - or so I thought. The new player 10 will not play them either while in netscape 7.2. If I save the files and go back to windows, the files play fine. In both XP and NS the Windows Media Player is listed as the default player for wmv files. But I cannot click on an email attachment wmv file and have it play in NS. Any suggestions?

 

WMP will never play in the browser, unless it is Internet Explorer or there is an embedded player, using WM format, but it is opened when I am in Netscape, and don't have to save the files.
If cannot open WMP from Netscape, give an example, please.
