Resolved Windows Login just recycling

    HI all,

    When I switch my laptop on, it logos on then logs off. I have repaired it with the CD but still get the same. Safe mode is the same. I need to get ot back before Monday as I need it for my work.

    any help would be appreicated.

    Hi Pete C,

    Thanks for you quick response.
    I followed the instrutions above but now I can get into safemode but not normal.
    any sugestions.

    Try a System Restore in Safe Mode to a date prior to the onset of the logon/logoff loop problem.

    Dual boot with which other OS ? If Vista, which I do not run, I have a feeling that that prevents restore points from being made in XP.

    Yes I think you are correct, but at the moment I have lost the dual boot start up, but I should be able to recreate it one xp is running again. I am currently repairing xp form the CD. I am running Vista Ultimate as my main start up and Xp pro for my work.

    Finished repairing Xp but when it finnished I got loadinf xp please wait screen and that was it.after some time I rebooted and got my esktop background but nothing else. Will try a restore next. - No restore points.

    Had to reformat my drive and reinstal everything to fix this.
