Windows live messenger annoyance.

    When I have a conversation window open in the background while I'm working it sometimes pops up in the foreground when someone sends a message. It's really annoying. Can you help me stop it, please?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

    I've never used Live Messenger...but there should be a setting to help...Look for settings - "Alerts. "

    I've never experienced that... are you using XP or Vista? I'm on Vista. Could be a difference between XP & Vista, or a function of your graphics driver.

    Ooops. My Bad. I am using Live Messenger with Vista and I too don't have the problem. My co-worker on other hand does on her XP machine.
