In Outlook Express (on Windows XP pro), it's fairly easy to relocate the Mail Folders (*.dbx) and the Address Book (*.wab) to a dedicated data partition.

In Windows Live Mail (on Windows 7 pro), I have managed to move the "Windows Live Mail" folder. Moving it from within WLM didn't work. I copied it to the desired location and edited the registry to point at the new location.

I can't find a way to move the "Windows Live Contacts" folder, neither from within WLM nor by copying the folder and editing the registry.

    Anyone?

Curious as to why you're wanting to do this?

If I keep all user data on a dedicated data partition, I can restore the system partition (using Ghost) without affecting user data.

Maybe WLM and WLC is an unfortunate mix of web based and local mail management. WLC is still tied to the web but WLM can be stored locally and accessed off-line. No need to access contacts off-line?
