I have Windows XP SP1 Pro.
When I try to install any programs the windows installer opens, I click "Install" and in a random time for every program I get the error message:
    "Internal Error 2203.
    C:\WINDOWS\Installer\c44028e.ipi, -2147287035 "

Well, most of these sites talked about permission problem - but i got only "everyone" group with full control (so it's not that).
Tried killing it tru the "sc delete msiserver" and reintalling it... didn't work either, I got NAV 2003 with latest virus def. so I know it's not a virus..... What can I do?

    Hi Rike,

Ok, if you didn't find any solution, you are going to have to repair your installation unless someone comes up with an answer short of that.

    Look at this thread http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18033
Read all the references carefully and fully; in other words take your time about preparing for this.

    Regards - Charles

    Hi Rike,

Forgot about the fact that the installer is a service in XP.

    Start > run > type services.msc

Scroll down to Windows Installer. Double click on it and see what the options say in the properties panel. I've got it set as manual start in the startup type drop down menu. See if its disabled in that menu. If it is, change it to either manual - works for me - or auto.

    Regards - Charles
