windows installer system files

    I am trying to install a company authorized office XP suite in my home computer. My home computer is win 98SE. The problem is the company installer will not update my 98 installer files so that I can install the office XP. Can anyone advise me how I can update the installer system files on my 98SE system? I searched but could not find this one in the back cases here and could not find any update on the windows site that seemed to apply. Hopefully someone here has an answer.
