An XP Pro SP3 machine has lost its Windows games folder, including Spider Solitaire, Minesweeper, Freecell etc etc.

I've tried the recommended fix, ie, Add-Remove Programs > Add-Remove Windows Components > unchecking Accessories then reversing the process but that didn't work. (This step involved inserting the Windows CD)

I tried sfc /scannow but that didn't work either. Anyone able to help? The elderly owner is bereft

    Hello masonite,

    Download this keeper tool:
    http://www.voidtools.com/

Just a pet windows search replacement I have found and really like. If you prefer not to, you can use standard search and type game. See what comes up. You may have accidentally dragged this somewhere.

Please see my thread numbered #4:

May also be helpful to use past posted help:
    http://www.google.com/cse?siteurl=w...00:8y6jzw-umnw&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=xp+games&sa=Go

In the least, links above will include names to exectables for games. This will help you to find the executable's to the games and create new short cuts.

Pay special attention to this snip-it from the above:
Repeat with the "Details..." button with "Games" highlighted on the
    resulting "Accessories and Utilities" window.

UNCHECK the missing games in the "Games" window. The games might NOT
REinstall unless you use this procedure to UNinstall them first.
