I have been participating in the Windows Feedback Panel project since Dec 2004. Now I get an error message on startup: The procedure entry point? UpdateShellCurrentUser@@YAHXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library wfpschdl.dll I also had trouble with the CA EZArmor firewall truevector and vsmon. Since I know I can rejoin the feedback panel, I uninstalled the program through the Windows XP SP2 control panel add/remove programs, but still got the same message. I found that the msconfig startup list still had the WFPScheduler as an active startup item. I unchecked the item & rebooted. Sure enough, no error message but I'd like to get rid of all the feedback panel stuff, in startup & the registry entries that are still in the entry labeled: H_KEYlocalmachine/software/microsoft/WFPScheduler. The folder & files for the feedback panel are still in the Program files section; why did the uninstall procedure not remove them? I have not gone to Microsoft with this problem other than to read the FAQs on the Feedback panel site: http://wfp.microsoft.com/. I followed the instructions for uninstall, that this would "completely remove the software;... I could leave at any time" :(

I am not having any problems with the CA firewall (just like ZoneAlarm Pro) now. :)
I would certainly appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

Most uninstalls leave things behind. I wouldn't worry about em. You can delete them manually or use a registry cleaner.

Thanks Steve. I got an email from the Customer Service rep at Microsoft Windows Feedback Panel, replying to my email about leaving the panel, who says essentially the same thing. Leave the files/entries/folders or remove them manually. I'm going to remove them manually.

By the way, they also told me that this situation happens to a few other users as well; that the resolution is to uninstall & reinstall. They are working on finding the cause & a fix. :D

    Thanks again.

I dropped out of the same service and uninstalled a couple of months ago. Can't say that I noticed any left overs. Didn't have any problems with the pc afterwards either..

Thanks Jennifer. I removed the files & registry entries manually. Everything is OK. I see that Microsoft has a new version of the Feedback Panel software, but I have not yet decided to rejoin. I did appreciate the responses you sent to me. That your information was the same as what I learned from WindowsBBS means a lot...I really trust what I learn here.
