I have installed Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit on an older computer (Intel D945PSN motherboard). I replaced the old 80 GB drive with a 90 GB SSD drive and updated the memory to 4 GB. The OS loaded fine and I have no problems showing in the Device Manager. When I right click the "Local Disk (C:)" in the left window of the Libraries (Windows Explorer) window, I get an error message: Windows Explorer has stopped working. I have to restart Windows Explorer. When I check the Application section of the Event Viewer, I have an error in the application: Explorer.Exe and the fault module is SHELL32.DLL. Does anyone no what could be causing this error?

Thanks for helping. I tried this yesterday and it worked before I re-registered shell32.dll, but now un-registering it doesn't help any more.

I had to deliver the original computer that I was having the problem back to my customer. Yesterday I built and loaded a new computer (i7-3770K, Intel DH77EB motherboard, 16 GB of RAM, Intel 120 GB 520 SSD drive, Western Digital 1 TB VelociRaptor, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit). After loading everything, I was having the same problem with Windows Explorer, right clicking on the C: drive caused it to close with and error in Shell32.dll. Thanks to Arie, I installed ShellExView and disabled "Spybot-S&D Explorer Integration" and found that the Windows Explorer doesn't now crash. I'm trying the new free edition of Spybot version 2. I guess they still have a few bugs in it. I had also installed the new Spybot in the previous computer. I will try to contact Safer-Networking and let them know about the problem.
