Windows Explorer search function doesn't work

    Not much more to say than that, really!
    File search in Windows Explorer simply doesn't do anything when I click on it.
    Any ideas as to the cause and solution very much appreciated!

    Look and click open the topic "Why doesn't search work ".

    Once your "search" is fixed you may want to tweak it's defaults, Kellys site has lots of information and reg patches with the how-tos for this also. I'm just as sure that windowsbbs.com's "Archives of past posts" has just as many fixes, tweaks but they may be less handy, requiring a search.

    You may also want to consider another alternative, often seen and recommended here, "Agent Ransack ". It really is better and faster then windows own built in search. See:
