I've searched the internet for serveral days looking for a way to install Netmeeting on my Windows 7 computer with no success. Personally, I am not a big fan of Netmeeting, however, everyone within the company still has Windows XP and uses Netmeeting for remote desktop sharing. I could use VNC as an alternative, but this would require the other users to install software on their end just to accomodate my issue. I could also use VirtualBox or XP Mode to emulate Windows XP, but that requires booting up a virtual o/s and running Netmeeting from within. So my question, has anyone tried to develop an application that runs on Windows 7 and capable of connecting to Netmeeting users? I've tried looking for the Netmeeting SDK with no luck as well!

    Netmeeting died with Win XP.

The Vitrulbox or XP mode would be the simple thing to do. I use VirtualBox and VirtualPC on my Vista machine to do all sorts of things...(not to mention I support software and need to have access to several versions)

TeamViewer is the new kid on the block... I have found that VNC doesn't like to connect to Win 7 machines. I install the main app on my machine and have a copy of the smaller client side (doesn't require installation) sitting on our companies web site.

I use RealVNC Enterprise and it works great with Windows 7. I haven't had any issues with others trying to connect to my computer remotely.

I do agree that VirtualBox is a great alternative. I was forced to use it to connect to the corporate network because the IPSec connection client that is used does not work on Windows 7. Fortunately, there is now another VPN client the company uses that works on Windows 7, so I can now use Outlook and access the corporate intranet without having to use VirtualBox. The only thing left is Netmeeting. Would be nice to just open an app that can communicate directly with Netmeeting users from a Windows 7 environment.
