I need to upgrade my daughters PC from win2k to winxp home.
When i look at the upgrade box, it states "for win95/98/ME ".
Can i upgrade from win2k to xp home using the standard windows xp home upgrade?

    thanks,
    savagcl

    Hi savagcl!

According to this webpage You can not upgrade from Win2Kpro to WinXPhome. You can however upgrade to WinXPpro.

Edited link to the correct version (WinXPhome) but the result is the same.

upgrade from win2k to xp home

The basic issue is that this isn't really an upgrade. More of a downgrade to a newer OS version. XP-home lacks many of the networking and security features that are standard with both 2K and XP-pro.
