Whenever I use NetMeeting I will get a BSOD about 3 or 4 minutes into the call with a "multiple_IRP_request" message.

Under "System Information | Hardware Resources | Conflicts/Sharing" I have 6 entries shown as IRQ 9:
    Microsoft ACPI Compliant System
    Matrox Millenium G400
Creative Sounblaster LiveIntel Pro 100 PCI
Standard Universal PCI to USB Host controller
Standard Universal PCI to USB Host controller

None of my hardware shows as having an IRQ conflict in Device Manager. All my drivers are current. I cannot reassign IRQs even as an admistrator because the "Change Settings" under "Device Manager | Device | Resources" stays grayed out. My understanding is that 1) A NIC is usually assigned IRQ 11 and 2) the NIC should be on its own IRQ.

Why can't I change IRQ assignments? Help would be appreciated.

Make sure all your drivers are up to date....especially if it's a VIA based motherboard.

The NIC shouldn't have a problem sharing, but stranger things have happened.

Keep on top of Matrox and Creative Labs drivers. Matrox "latest" drivers are usually more stable than the "certified" drivers....I'm thinking it's because the environment they were certified in changed the next morning when there were 5 Critical Updates on WindowsUpdate!! :)

Thanks for the quick reply. I did indeed use the "certified" drivers rather than the "latest."
Is there a reg key to ungray the "change IRQ assignment" box?
    Thanks again.

Not that I know of. Someone had posted a link to a Microsoft article that discussed IRQ sharing....you may look around and see if you can find it!

I still think it may be a problem that could be resolved by either moving cards around or loading latest drivers. I know some boards like Asus A7V133 map out in their manual which slots will share with other stuff. Audio cards, ESPECIALLY the Live! series, like PCI slot 3....
