Win XP Zip Utility

Would one of you fine folks please tell me how to access the Zip/Unzip Utility I have been told comes with XP? Also is it workable enough that I would not need to purchase WinZip?

 

From the Microsoft online help site, HOW TO: Use Compressed (Zipped) Folders in WindowsXP tells you all about using it.

As to the other, try it and see if it does what you need.

If you'd prefer to use a third party Zip program rather than the one built into XP, and don't want to spring for WinZip, there are numerous free ones available on FreewareWeb.

Ones I've heard good things about include PowerArchiver and ZipCentral, though I haven't personally tried them ... I bought WinZip when I got my first PC, and never have had a reason to try anything else.
