I am runing Win XP Home Edition on a 2.6 Mhz
Pentium 4 computer. I just installed Win Fax 10.2.
After the install when I shut down it just
rebooted and started back up. I notice when I
ran Ctrl-Alt-Delete the Win fax kept the modem
running. I went into msconfig and unchecked
win fax as a start up Item. The computer is
still doing the same thing and rebooting but
the modem has stopped running. To turn off the
computer I have to shut down and just after it
says windows is shutting down I pull the plug.
If I don't pull the plug it just reboots. What
is happening here and how do I fix it.

    Thanks, Jerry

Control Panel>System>Advanced>Startup and Recovery Settings>System Failure
    (Whew!)
make sure the box is unticked for "automatically restart "

MSConfig is more of a diagnostic than a permanent solution to what you want to allow to start with Windows. I like this freebie

You may have to uninstall and reinstall your new software if you still have a conflict.

Post back and let us know.
