I recently bought a new computer that has WIN XP. I want Netscape 7 and Mail to open at startup, and I've followed the directions to drag and drop the shortcuts to the startup folder, but I still have to click on the icons to open them. Help, please.

Perhaps you dropped them into the wrong folder. :(

    The correct path would be:

    C:\Documents and Settings\<your profile name>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Is that where you put them?

Just to add to Zephyr's post..........

    Or Start>Programs>Startup folder.

    Run: msconfig
to see if they are actually in the startup.

Zephyr and Abraxas, thanks for responding. And the answer is yes to your questions. I checked msconfig, and Netscape is there under Startup, also.
    So it should work, right?

    It should!
Out of ideas except to check the properties of the shortcut (does NS start when you click the shortcut in the Startup folder?).

Since I ditched NS, I can't test this, but I think the Sun Java starts with NS (or at least, a plugin is loaded). Maybe this has something to do with why it doesn't work.
