Hey out there I am wanting to make my Windows XP a hotspot but I am not shure how. I have a D-Link Wi-Fi card but I do not want to get a wi-fi router I would like to controll all of it from my computer. I can not see why you can't because the card sends and recives anyways so why not.

The problem is that you need something in the card's range that it can send to and receive from.

You could set yourself up as a 'hotspot' if you were able to act as a web server but only for other wireless PCs that were in range.
