    I have 2 different machines(p4-2500 MSI Board{Sons Machine}, AMD 939-3000 ABit Board{Clients Machine}) both doing the same thing.

They both Light up the keyboard and boot with NO keyboard error, BUT neither keyboard works on any key. Numerous different keyboards have been tried all with same result on these machines. The strange thing is the mouse on both machines works without fault.

    Any thoughts?

    Regards

    Alan

Are the replacement keyboards PS/2 types? You will need to use that type. If so, investigate the connection/connector carefully (check you using the keyboard connector...simplistic, but has caught me several times when I have connected the keyboard without looking). If the motherboard is not installed flush with the back of the case or the panel around the connector is not aligned, the connectors may not be fully seated.

Do any LEDs flash at startup? Try booting to a boot floppy disk or CD, if the keyboard works there then it will be due to a Windows setting.
