My copy of outlook was installed as part of windows xp professional version 2002. I never really got into it but I will be starting a new job soon where it is used so I wanted to get my feet wet. The problem is that at first I could not remeber my password. I think I ended up deleting the .pst file and now outlook opens but then quickly shuts down on its own. I do not care about any of the info that may or may not be stored. Is it possible to remove outlook completely and then reinstall to start with a clean slate?

If you mean outlook rather than outlook express, it's part of MS Office and can be removed in add/remove programs in control panel. Highlight office and click change and then add/remove features, outlook and open the pull-down menu and choose not available.

If you mean outlook express, in add/remove click windows components in the left pane and uncheck outlook and exit.
