I'm running a Dell Optiplex GX110, P3 866 with 2 20 Gig HDs. Shortly after installing a TDK CDRW, I began experiencing screen freeze ups. Happens at various times while using all kinds of software and occasionally, right after W2K completes loading. The Event Viewer intially showed an Error involving Zone Alarm's Internet Log just prior to freeze. However, after removing Zone Alarm and all of it's Internet Log files, still experiencing freezes. The Event Viewer no longer shows the Zone Alarm problem, but doesn't provide any clues. I have not uninstalled the TDK because I'm not convinced that is the problem, but should probably try this. Contemplating a reload of W2K. Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

The first rule of trouble shooting is to ask yourself when did it last work?

So I would remove the CD-RW drive and then see if it goes away or improves.

If that does it then get a new cd-rw (same or diffrent brand) and try it again.

As far as you getting a firewall error? Don't know why that would happen, you would have to see if that error was occruing before you started to have the problem. It could be software that came with the CD-RW drive like the packet writing software for when you write in RW mode. This has caused problem for me occasionally.
