Hi and welcome to the BBS,

You will need to explain what "family security" is, for me at least. I take it that is is not Windows Content Advisor. Was it installed when you bought the computer? Did you "delete" any files or uninstall the program in Control Panel -> Programs and Features?

You could try reinstalling the program again and maybe find a better way to uninstall it. If uninstalling it causes problems, try disabling it and using Windows Content Advisor instead (see Help and Support).

If you used a different version of Vista (the original may be an Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) version), that may explain the "not valid" message. You should find (re)installation instructions in the documentation or at the computer manufacturer's website. See if this explains it:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932348/en-us
If not, let us know exactly what the message says.

    Matt
