Just upgraded to Vista Ultimate from XP Pro. Cannot reduce desktop icons. Display settings indicate 1280X1024 pixels, but icons are at least twice the size as same setting with XP. Vista pixel control panel says I am at the smallest setting.

In a related (possibly) situation I am receiving an error message for a program stating "Unable to find VGA driver," and the monitor shows to be running on a default Intel driver.

Using a Dell XPS 200\5150 with 4G of ram. Anyone have any sugggestions?

Looks like you have to install the Vista driver for your graphics card.

    VGA Pixel Problems

Found a hack for the icon size, still working the driver issue. Found a software package that identified drivers needing updates, but having to work through them one by one, while dealing with other compatibility issues. What fun!

Found out what the problem is. The software I was using (MaxiVista), and apparently some gaming systems, require XPDM drivers. Windows Vista only reconginzes WDDM drivers. There is apparenlty a way to force the use of XPDM drivers, but it compromises both the software using that driver and possibly Vista. Microsoft has no interest in fixing the problem and MaxiVista says they cannot. Thanks for the suggestion.
