USB Host

    How can I change the speed of the USB ports
    I an running XP home on a Dell gx 240...processor 1.6G, memory 512mb,
    hard drive 40g.
    There are four USB ports all are#1 tks.:confused:

    The speed of the usb ports is limited/controlled by the hardware. You can't change it. Best you could do is add a usb 2.0 card if you have an available slot.

    Thank you noahdfear, In thr event I donot have an open slot, is there one
    that I can vacate . Would you know the where I could obtain such
    a usb 2.0 card tks.

    You can get a card at many computer hardware outlets, such as Newegg (online only), Radio Shack, Circuit City, etc.

    This picture shows the location of pci slots on many motherboards. Open the side of your case and see if you have any empty slots like that.
