Hi All, I had bought USB 2.0 IDE adapter with IDE Power

    supply. I use it for 2 HDD (Seagate 4.3Gb & Maxtor 60Gb).

My system running windowsXP pro sp2, when i plug in

seagate 4.3gb it works perfectly, but I plug in Maxtor 60gb

hdd seems it's doesn't work. Maxtor Hdd working without

problem if attach to PC directly & no bad sector found. I

found that if I using CPU internal power supply to power on

maxtor hdd with using USB 2.0 IDE adapter, system could

able to detect HDD and use it perfectly. Is my IDE power

supply doesn't get sufficient power to power on maxtor HDD.

How do i check the conditions of IDE power supply. Thanks

    for any valuable input.

That seems to be the case. You can look up the specifications for each HDD and find their power requirements, then compare that to the stated output of the power supply. The power supply should have information printed on it or you may have to look it up on the IDE adapter manufacturer's website.
