   My really basic questions are:
   How do I upgrade an older PC OS from WIN 98 to WIN XP... I have both, Win 98 & WIN XP OS PC's; have the WIN XP re-install disk; how much free memory (HD; RAM) do I need? Can I do this at all?? Must I purchase a new OS package? ..... tx

   The memory requirements are laughable - 256 Mb absolute minimum, preferably 512 Mb or greater.
   
   You will need to buy an Upgrade CD if you have a full copy of Win 98, otherwise a full copy. XP can only be installed on one computer. It will install on another computer, but you cannot activate.
