I recently upgraded from 98se to XP pro sp2. I formatted my C drive and did a clean install. After the 1st install, items 1 & 2 below were present. In an effort to correct them, reinstalled XP directly over the top of the original XP. Afterward, 1 & 2 were still there, and then item 3 showed up. Had other issues that I was able to work thru but the 3 items below remain. Any help would be appreciated. ( one other note: I did just notice that right after an XP install, my Works files will print, but shortly thereafter, they won't)
    1) I do all my work in MS Works. My printer will not print any Works files, even tho it works fine for all else. Error message says "printer driver is missing" even tho when I try to install driver from my HP cd, it says driver is already there. I can convert my Works files to Office format and they print OK. I even bought an updated version of Works and it does the same thing.
    2) If the computer sets dorment for an hour or so, I lose my connection to the internet. The DSL modem is working OK according to the lights, but just cannot connect. I haveto reboot and all is OK, until it sets again.
    3) The computer downloads 87 updates needed for XP, but will not install them
