Resolved Upgrade or replace?

    When getting RAM for a PC, I always go to Crucial and let it do the FREE online scan. It will tell you what you have and what you can go to. Then I go to e-bay and buy what I need.

    Thanks, Bill. I'd never though of going to eBay. I have used Crucial's scsanner and it recommended two different sticks. I don't remember exactly, but I think they were two different speeds. Crucial's own prices were about $27 for the slower one and $32 for the faster one.

    I just check the recommended RAM (by the code you get from Crucial or other brand "scanner/chooser ") in Google shopping & get it from a reputable retailer. For me it's usually Newegg or Amazon that have the best pricing.

    If you have the slower one in your PC and then add the faster one to the slower one, the faster one will slow down to the slower speed.

    You can also find pretty good discounts and codes for dell online if you take the time to search before ordering.

    Might make the difference on parts or software when comparing options.
